Product was delivered on time in very large box. Looks very good as replacements for older, large Bose speakers. Speakers were very easy to set up with Yamaha receiver. Subwoofer has Left and Right connections and is the key item in the system. Great sound from DVDs and music CDs. Low power usage to go with great price.
My wife, who wasn't very excited about "the need" to purchase surround sound, is now really happy with the results. I was initially focused on a "home theater in a box" solution to go with my 42" Sharp Aquos LCD and PS3, but countless reviews recommended going with separates. She commented recently that it sounds just like being at the movie theater. The trick was finding a solution that provided high quality sound at a target cost (for AV receiver and speakers) of around $400.After doing a lot of research, I ended up purchasing Harman Kardon's AV-154 home theater receiver and Polk Audio's RM6750 speaker system. Great results. Gaming is absolutely ridiculous now.Great, high-quality speakers at an entry-level cost. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase.
They appear to capture all of the highs and lows. I'm no audiophile, but the price/performance of these speakers is great. Easy setup from the box. Watching movies is much more enjoyable. Will not blow your socks off, but for the novice this is more than adequate and a great price piont.
She never wants to go to the Theater now.The surround during videogames makes me jump alot more now since these speakers have such good detail. If you hook them up as Polk recommends (not using the dedicated sub cable) you will be amazed.
My last old piece of hardware was my Yamaha HTR-5730 Reciever and speakers. Heard these Polks at a friend's house in a open area bad for sound and they amazed me.
I have a dedicated home theater/videogame room with a High Def Video Projector. My fiancee who was sceptical as to why we needed new speakers was blown away and still comments from time to time how good they sound.
Did some research and pulled the trigger on these at slightly over two hundred dollars. THEY ARE A STEAL.
Excellent highs and mid and thunderous bass that seems to emit from the satellites but not the sub (unless it is one of those discreet "rumble" frequencies). Try playing Silent Hill Homecoming or Fallout 3 with these babies and get back to me.Highly recommended.
The fronts and surrounds provide a good 'in theater' feel. I stayed away from Home Theater in a box systems because of their limitations. The center channel is clear and dialogue is great.
It is connected to an Onkyo 606 receiver that is the hub for our Sharp Aquos HDTV and Memorex DVD upgrading player. The speakers sound great at 30% volume when watching TV or DVDs.
After waiting a couple of months for an Onkyo 7.1 system to be in stock, I decided to go with the RM 6750 5.1 system when the price dropped on Amazon. I recommend these speakers to anyone wanting a good entry level sound.
I do not like to crank up the volume and these are plenty loud enough for us at 30%. Haven't tried them yet with music; but I am not expecting to be disappointed.
The base rumbles just enough for our taste; but turned up higher will shake the room. It would be great to add a couple of Polk towers to bring the set up to 7.1 even though we like it as is.
